Dr. Travis D. Carney

Travis is originally from the Pacific Northwest, having received a B.S. from Western Washington University and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. During his graduate work, he used Drosophila to study the genetic control of neural stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. He completed his postdoctoral training in Prof. Shcherbata’s lab in Germany, first at the Max Planck Institute and then at Hannover Medical School, focusing on the effects of regulatory RNAs on differentiation processes.

Ian Davis
Research Assistant
Ian Michael Barrett Davis, Research Assistant II, 2019 BS in Genetics from University of New Hampshire, 2026 PSM in Bioinformatics from University of Maine. At MDIBL, Ian investigates Rbfox1 using CRISPR-based fly husbandry. He also analyzes data for select projects in the Shcherbata lab.

Sanjushree Nagarajan
PhD Student
Sanjushree Nagarajan, Graduate student, 2018 B.Tech in Biotechnology from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India. She is enrolled in the HBRS Regenerative Sciences PhD program at Hannover Medical School (MHH), Germany. At MDIBL, her research focuses on regulation of mitochondrial homeostasis by the RNA-binding protein Rbfox1 in Drosophila melanogaster.
